Here’s one for parents of new teen drivers: Edmunds reports that a new product is available which prevents a vehicle from starting until the driver’s cell phone is docked. The product is called OrigoSafe, and we at 3 Birds Demo have a feeling it could make many parents feel more comfortable about their teens out on the road.
The product can be installed at home, although an authorized OrigoSafe dealer will perform the installation for an additional fee. Once the device is installed, the phone must be inserted for the vehicle to turn on. While the company acknowledges parents as the primary audience for the product, the company also offers a “fleet solution” for commercial driving operators.
